Conditional tense corresponds to the Enlish tense with "would". The conditional tense of dìlat is:

Chtìl jsem tam jít I wanted to go there.
Chtìl bych tam jít I would (should) like to go there.
Present conditinal = past participle and the auxiliary
bych (bys, by, bychom, byste, by)
Kéž can be used with the conditional to express a wish
[Kéž if only; would to God; Kéž by tu byl - if only he were here; I wish he was (were) here.
An "if" -clause espressing an unreal condition is introduced by
kdybych (kdybys, kdyby, kdybychom, kdybyste, kdyby)
where the condition may be fulfilled, the clause is introduced by jestliže, -li, or (colloquially) když: Chceš-li ráno brzy vstávat, musíš jit veèer brzy spat - If you want , etc.
Jestliže mi nevìøíš, zeptej se své matky! - If you don't believe me, etc.
Když pùjdeš ven, nezapomeò svùj deštník.
Kdybych mìl èas, napsal bych román - - - If I had time I'd write a novel.
Jestli(že) budu mít èas, napíšu román - - - If I have time I'll write a novel. (lit. If I will have time ....)
Když budu mít èas, napíšu román - - - If (and when) I have time I'll write a novel.
Až budu mít èas, napíšu román - - - -When I have time I'll write a novel.
The Past Conditional and Pluperfect Tenses
A past conditional tense corresponding to English"would have done" is sometimes formed by adding byl or byl býval to the ordinary conditional term. The past conditional of být is always byl býval.
Kdybych byl mìl peníze, byl bych koupil tu knihu. - - -If I had had the money, I would have bought that book.
Byl bych to býval udìlal rád. - - I would have done it gladly.
Nebyl bych koupil tu knihu. - - - I would not have bought that book.
Kdo by to byl øekl? - - - Who would have said it?
Byl bych býval rád. - - - I would have been glad.
Subordinate clauses espressing a desire, entreaty, command, request, fear, etc., are introduced by
abych (abys, aby, abychom, abyste, aby), used with the past participle, especially after øíci, pøáti si, prositi, žádati,
chtíti, and similar verbs in the main clause.
- Je caš, abych už šel domù. It is time for me to go home.
- Øíkal jsem ti, abys tu knihu vrátil. I told you to return this book.
- Uèitelka øekla žákùm, aby pozornì poslouchali. The teacher told the pupils to listen carefully.
